Email notifications

TrackOut emails you when something in your garage needs attention -- an event coming up, maintenance falling due, a receipt finished processing. Every one of those is optional, and you control each kind separately.

Change what you receive

  1. Open Settings in TrackOut.
  2. Scroll to Email notifications.
  3. Turn any switch on or off. Changes save immediately.

Every optional email carries two clear footer links: Unsubscribe from [this kind] turns off only that category, while Manage all email preferences opens every notification switch in Settings. Muting weather forecasts will not mute a service appointment reminder. Unsubscribing from one kind leaves the unsubscribe links in every other email already in your inbox working.

The footer's Unsubscribe link opens a short confirmation page naming the kind of email it stops; press Unsubscribe there to finish. The extra step means a work email scanner that opens every link for you cannot unsubscribe you by accident. The Unsubscribe button your mail app shows next to the sender still works in one tap.

Some email cannot be switched off

Sign-in links, password resets, email verification, plan-change receipts, and the reply to a receipt you forwarded are not on these switches. They answer something you just did, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Track day weather forecasts start off -- turn the switch on if you want the week-ahead outlook as well as the event reminders.

Track day and event email

Three kinds cover an upcoming event, and they arrive at different moments:

  • Weather forecast -- a week out, on the morning (track local time) seven days before your first day, once the forecast is meaningful. For a multi-day MotorsportReg event, the email lists the weather for each day you confirmed you are attending, with a clear note when a day's forecast is unavailable. Until those days are saved, it uses the organizer's full weekend.
  • Pre-event readiness check -- a few days out, covering the car rather than the sky: brake pad life, tread depth, fluid age, and inspection status. You get one per event whether or not anything needs attention.
  • Track day reminders -- an outlook early on the morning before your first selected day, then an early-morning email on each selected day, both timed to the track's local clock. If the forecast isn't available yet, the reminder still arrives with your event details. The morning email shows hourly temperature and rain chance for that day and, when you are also registered tomorrow, tomorrow's hours alongside it. A single selected day or your final selected day shows only today's hours.

See Track readiness for how the readiness verdicts are worked out, and Track days for the event itself.

Maintenance email

Maintenance reminders cover both items already overdue and items landing in the next week. A reminder you marked At the shop is left out until you log it or pick the car back up. Each one lists the car, the item, and when it was due, and links straight to the schedule -- that car's maintenance tab when only one car is involved, or Service for several. If nothing on the list has changed since the last one, the next waits two weeks rather than six days. Items you track by track days or heat cycles are included once they are close to their limit (85% used) or past it, with the count shown -- for example 5 of 4 track days.

Booked service visits get their own reminder the day before, with the shop, the work, and the mileage at booking.

If you have already handled something, log it in the car's history and the reminder clears itself. See Maintenance tracking and Service.

Receipts you forward

When you forward a receipt to your garage address, TrackOut replies once it has read it -- showing the vendor, date, mileage, line items, and total it extracted, plus how confident it is in that reading.

The receipt is waiting for you to review, not yet filed. Open it from the email, correct anything the extractor got wrong, and save it to the car's history. Corrections improve future extractions.

Check low-confidence reads

Each reply is graded. A high-confidence read is usually right; a low-confidence one flags that the extractor struggled with the document, so check each field before you save.

See Inbox, receipts & schedules for the forwarding setup.

Getting-started emails

New accounts get a short series over the first two weeks introducing one thing at a time -- forwarding receipts, tracking tire sets, asking Crew Chief, importing history you already have, and Deep Research. The welcome email waits until you verify the address, then arrives even if the garage is still empty. The series starts once your garage has a car; until then, you get at most two reminders to add your first one.

You will also get a one-off note the first time you put an upcoming event on the calendar, and one when your garage reaches your plan's car limit -- once per plan, so filling a bigger plan later still tells you what fits more.

At most one of these arrives on any given day, and the series stops on its own after two weeks. Turning off Getting-started emails ends it immediately.

Weekly summary

Every Monday, when there is something ahead or something to do, a recap of what is on the books: track days and events coming up, maintenance that needs attention, and recent service. The email only sends if a day or event is upcoming or maintenance needs you -- a week that only recaps service you already logged stays quiet. Stat tiles with a zero stay hidden.

Email is not arriving

  • Check the switch for that kind in Settings, and confirm it is on.
  • Check spam or promotions, and mark TrackOut as not spam so later email lands in the inbox. Marking a TrackOut email as junk turns off every optional switch and stops further product mail to that address -- turning the switches back on does not restore it. Email support@trackout.app if you still want those emails.
  • Confirm the address on your account is the one you are checking, and that it is verified -- welcome mail waits until you verify.
  • If you used an Unsubscribe link before, the matching switch is off -- turn it back on in Settings.

Weather forecasts only send when you have an upcoming track day with a track set, and readiness checks only send for events with a car attached that you are still entered in -- none goes out for a registration you withdrew from or an event the organizer cancelled. The same goes for weather forecasts and track day reminders. While you are on an event's waitlist you still get the week-ahead forecast, but not the day-before or morning reminders. Two cars at the same event, or a track day you added yourself alongside the MotorsportReg entry for it, get one email, not one each.
